Notarial Services EP5 Notarized Affidavit
A notarized affidavit is made when a notary certifies that a particular person who appears before them has confirmed to them that they had made an affidavit. That person could also swear an oath confirming that the content or message in the document is true and that they are aware that if it is false, they can be punished according to the law.
An affidavit is a document that a person who appears in front of a notary made by themself with a confirmation of facts they intend to make included in the document. An affidavit could be a pleading that the person intends to use in court or a document giving a statement to an official or any other person. Like other types of notarial acts, to notarize an affidavit, a notary does not certify the facts and content in the affidavit. They only notarize the event to certify that a person has confirmed the making of the affidavit and has sworn an oath regarding the correctness of the affidavit.
